Herbal Workshops
Clinical Herbalist, Anna Rósa, will be teaching refugees and Ugandan host women how to make herbal products, for their own use and to earn income. All products made during the workshop are kept by participants. Workshops focuses on the needs expressed by the attendees, and all ingredients are sourced locally. Typical products revolve around remedies for pain and wounds.
Training the Trainers
By training refugee women to lead workshops, there will be a natural growth that will spread to more women throughout the camps, becoming completely self- sustainable.

Product Development
Beekeeping activities are common in the Palabek settlement and various bee products are produced. Some beekeeping groups have expressed strong interest in adding value to their existing products with Anna Rósa’s assistance.
Herbal Data Bank
There exists a rich knowledge of the local use of herbs in the refugee settlement. Together with the community, we will systematically document these uses, adding photos, traditional uses from other countries, as well as recipes and relevant scientific papers. The information is specifically for the use of the community and will be easily available in the refugee camps. It will be made with, by and for the community, giving credit to those involved.

Mosquito Repellent
Malaria makes up for 44% of all diseases in the Palabek Settlement, the cause being mosquitos. We plan to develop a natural mosquito repellant crafted from a blend of essential oils derived from local herbs.
