The project in Uganda
Anna Rósa, our clinical herbalist, went for a study visit to Uganda in the summer 2024. She taught two workshops for 56 women in the refugee and host communities in the Palabek settlement. The women showed great interest in learning more about herbs and all of them received pain relief oil to take home. We have already heard about several women receiving benefits from using the oil.
The project in Kurdistan Iraq
They were happy
According to a survey, on a 1-10 scale, satisfaction with the workshops was at 8.2. Moreover, an overwhelming majority of women wanted to learn more about medicinal herbs.
She was surprised
This is Khadija Omar Ali, who’s 44 years old and along with her husband, has been suffering from chronic foot pain for several years. They’ve consulted numerous doctors and tried various medications, but haven’t noticed any substantial improvement. However, Khadija recently decided to give our pain-relief oil a try. She was surprised that both she and her husband felt a significant difference. Khadija is delighted with the effectiveness of the pain oil and is eager to make her own once the bottle from our workshop runs out.
The eczema improved
Rojin Ahmed Ismail is one of our participants in the ointment workshop. She has been using the ointment for her daughter who has been struggling with a tough case of eczema. The ointment has been working really well and her daughter is thrilled to have something that works. Rojin plans to continue making the ointment and is super happy that she joined the workshop and found a recipe that works.
Her pain diminished
This is Farida, who is 45 years old and has been experiencing severe foot pain for some time. Despite being on medication for an extended period, she couldn’t find relief. However, her situation changed after attending a workshop on how to make an oil for pain and got a bottle to take home. Upon applying the oil to her feet for few days she discovered that her pain diminished and allowed her to stand without any discomfort.
Terrific course!
Bahar Mirza lives in the Esyan refugee camp in Kurdistan. She is 47 years old. She grew up in Sinjar district in Iraq but the ISIS invasion in 2014 forced her to flee along with her family. She spends her days taking care of household work and tending a number of sheep she owns. This is what Bahar has to say about the ointment course of Anna Rósa: „To me it was absolutely terrific. Something I had never experienced before. On top of that I could keep the ointment we made. I love this ointment.“
